Hazardous household waste collected May 19
Published 5:33 pm Sunday, May 6, 2012
Take a few minutes to gather up all the hazardous household waste and head to the Cass County Fair Grounds from 9 a.m. to noon May 19.
Dispose of as much as 300 pounds of product for free ($1.50 per pound thereafter).
There will also be a free electronic waste collection where you can donate old computers, monitors, TVs, radios — anything operated with a battery or plugged into an outlet. This does not include large appliances.
Two new collections are the old flag collection, which will end with the flags being disposed of properly with a ceremony by the VFW; and a used eyeglass collection that benefits the Lions Club.
There is a fee associated for tire collection. Passenger car tires will be $2 each ($4 with rims), truck tires $6 each ($8 with rims) and tractor tires $20 each ($25 with rims).
No reservations are necessary. For questions or a list of acceptable waste items, call the MSU Extension office at (269) 445-4438
