Seven arrests have been made in a weekend breaking and entering.
Ontwa Township-Edwardsburg Police Chief Kenneth Wray reported that on Monday, his officers arrested suspects in the break-in who allegedly stole a vehicle, then used it to steal several bicycles and a motorcycle.
Officers received a vehicle description that could have been used in the incident in the 25000 block of May Street.
The accused arraigned Tuesday are: Blake Daniel McNeil, 17, of Edwardsburg; William Paxton Haskins, 35, of Edwardsburg; Nicholas Adam Zeytoonian, 18, of Goshen, Ind.; Jonathan Dean Smith, 26, of Edwardsburg; and Gary Lee Leiting, 17, of Edwardsburg.
Charges are conspiracy to commit breaking and entering with intent, breaking and entering with intent, unlawful driving away of an automobile, possession of burglary tools, receiving and concealing stolen property and larceny from a building.
Wray said two suspects under age 17 will also be charged in connection with these crimes. He feels this group has been involved in several area vehicle and home break-ins, but officers have not yet gathered enough evidence to support more charges.
Their investigation is ongoing, with at least one arrest yet to be made.
