COLOMA — The story remains the same for the Niles softball team.
The Vikings were swept by Lakeland Conference leading Coloma 10-0 and 15-5 in a pair of non-league contests.
“I feel it’s the same story every game for us lately,” Niles coach Ryan Frontczak said. “We were in the first game. It was 2-0 doing to the sixth and no runners were on and we could not get out of the big inning, giving up eight runs.
“We need to realize we can depend on each other to make the big play to get us out of an inning. We have to stop compiling errors in games. We had only two errors going into the sixth and both cost us a run. We added four more that inning alone.
“We just need to keep working and figure out what its going to take to close out and finish close games.”
Molly VanDerKeere took the loss in the first game. Tala Gentry suffered the loss in the nightcap.
Hannah Porterfield had a pair of doubles for the Vikings.
