MILTON TOWNSHIP — The Milton Township Board will hold a public hearing and vote on the proposed 2012-2013 township budget at 7 p.m. March 26.

Supervisor Robert Benjamin said he anticipates the township ending fiscal year 2011-2012 with $800,000 in the fund balance. The proposed budget calls for dipping into those reserves by $58,000 for township road maintenance. A total of about $92,000 is budgeted for roads.

“Our intention is not to have any roads to turn to gravel,” he said.

The board will also discuss whether it should spend about $15,000 to repaint the historic Smith Chapel.

The proposed budget total comes in at about $520,500.

The meeting will take place at the township hall, 32097 Bertrand Rd. in Niles.
