Cass County Drug Enforcement Team detectives assisted in the home inspection of 25-year-old parolee Sean Carmody at the 200 block of Sheldon Street in the City of Dowagiac.
Detectives located drugs in the residence during the inspection Thursday and began to speak with Carmody in regards to the narcotics found.
Carmody immediately attempted to flee the residence and resist arrest.
The two detectives were assaulted and taken through glass windows as they were apprehending Carmody.
Consequently, both detectives and Carmody required medical treatment and were released from respective medical care providers.
Carmody was lodged at the Cass County Jail after treatment and charged with possession of cocaine second offense, possession of marijuana second offense, two counts of resisting and obstructing and two counts of resisting arrest causing injury.
Carmody was arraigned Friday in Cass County Fourth District Court  and was being held on a $75,000 cash bond.
