Vikings fall to Lake Michigan Catholic

ST. JOSEPH — Visiting Niles was unable to overcome a five-point halftime deficit and fell to Lake Michigan Catholic Tuesday night in girls basketball action.
The Vikings (3-9) led the Lakers 5-4 after one quarter, but trailed 16-11 at halftime as LMC outscored Niles 12-6 in the second quarter.
The Vikings cut the lead to four points, 22-18, heading into the final quarter, but was again outscored by Lake Michigan Catholic in the last eight minutes of play, 15-13.
Maureen Craig had nine points to lead the Vikings, who also got six points from Kylee Myer.
Lake Michigan Catholic was led offensively by Laura Sifrig’s game-high 19 points. Lauren Visin added eight points.
