STEVENSVILLE — It was like night and day against the two Portage schools Wednesday night in Big 16 Conference West Division wrestling at Lakeshore High School.

The Vikings blew out Portage Northern 58-9, but were not as fortunate against Portage Central, which handed Niles a 45-21 setback.

Four Vikings finished the night 2-0.

Brendon Meek defeated Evan Schroder of Portage Northern 7-6 and pinned Collin Fuller of Portage Central in 48 seconds at 103-pounds.

Nicholas Zimmerman earned a technical fall against Northern’s Andy Norlin (16-00 and pinned Central’s Talha Zafar in 22 second at 112.

Fritzel Findeisen defeated the Huskies’ Brett Bloomberg at 171 13-5 and defeated the Mustangs’ Hunter Bagley 8-2.

Ryan Casey received a forfeit against Portage Northern and then pinned Dontrell Morris of Portage Central in 1:34.

The Vikings will be back in Stevensville Saturday as it takes part in the Lakeshore Super Duals. Wrestling begins at noon.
