DONALDSON, Ind. — The Ancilla College softball team (12-28, 2-24 MCCAA) were held to just one in both games of a double header, as they were swept by NJCAA No. 19 and Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Western Conference co-leader Kalamazoo Valley Community College (32-4, 24-4 MCCAA) by scores of 6-0 and 9-1.
KVCC’s Sara Heath threw a complete game two-hit shutout in game one with Ancilla’s Alysha Faler picking up both hits.
The visiting Cougars sent Alexis Lenox to the circle for game two and she followed up by holding Ancilla to four hits and just one run. Demi Schrader had two hits for Ancilla.
“Kalamazoo Valley outplayed us all day,” said Ancilla coach Scott Reese. “We had a hard time getting anything going.”
Ancilla hosts Grand Rapids Community College (18-26, 12-14 MCCAA) today.
