Daniel’s life began on Jan. 11, 1974, in St. Joseph, the son of Patrick Pitcher and Deborah Getz Young.

He was a 1992 graduate of Lakeshore High School and soon after graduation, joined the U.S. Marine Corps.

Daniel served his country from 1992-2000.

Daniel loved the outdoors, hiking and camping in the forest and mountains that surrounded him, his beat up old truck, was quite the video game player and loved his dogs, cats and even an iguana.

He also had a large toy collection he prized, particularly his Star War toys, and loved being a surveyor, as this gave him more time to spend outdoors, which is where he loved to be.

He was an honorable man who loved his family and friends with all his heart and would be there for you always.

Daniel is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Helen Getz.
