On Sunday, Nov. 14, at 2 p.m., Bob Rowe and the Green Valley Boys, featuring special guest Michael Northrop, will present a free harvest concert at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 210 N. Front St., Dowagiac.

The concert will feature songs from Rowe’s new album, Legacy, slated for Nov. 1 release, and his other releases of Catholic and spiritual music.

Bob will also sing many new originals and old time country and folk favorites with The Green Valley Boys.

Northrop will be featured performing with Bob on songs from many releases.

“He uses his music as an instrument of healing.” — Time magazine

“We are all rooting for you and your great career, I salute you for the work you do for those who are suffering and in need!” — Judy Collins

“Your work of love in nursing homes, hospitals, for the aged and unwanted is truly the work of peace!” — Mother Teresa

Rowe’s 20th and most striking album to date contains some of Bob’s most stirring interpretations of classic inspirational songs such as “How Can I Keep From Singing” and a unique-duet version of the Leonard Cohen classic, “Halleluiah!”

Bob also offers several new originals that are sure to be future classics such as: “Walk With Jesus” and “The Light In Your Eyes!”

The album was recorded in Kalamazoo from April 2010-Aug. 30 and was produced and arranged by Neil Harding, who also plays much of the solo instrumentals on the album including many inspired guitar parts as well as horns, saxiphone and keyboards (solo keyboards were arranged and performed by Kristine Thompson on “How Can I Keep From Singing” and “Spirit of God.”)

Bob’s voice also shines on classic World War II songs such as: “I’ll Be Seeing You,” “We’ll Meet Again” and “Bye, Bye Blackbird” with duet vocals from Gloria Larrieu, Michael Northrop, Alisa Kirby and Neil Harding, this proves to be one of Rowe’s most exciting and versatile recordings to date — a real musical “legacy” and a treat for the ears.

The album was produced through a grant from The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo-KADI fund.

The album will be distributed by Heartbeat Distribution and Christian One-Stop, the largest distributor to the inspirational market place and individual songs.

The entire disc will be available on iTunes, Sony Music, Napster, Rhapsody, Amazon.com, cdbaby.com; target.com and through all fine retail outlets that carry recorded music.

The album will be available for download by mid-October and store sales by Nov. 1.

Bob’s first album, A New Beginning, was released by World Library of Sacred Music and JS Paluch company of Chicago in l984.

Songs from that collection were featured in Catholic hymnals and misallettes worldwide. He then followed with a collection of folk music and in 2000 a tribute to folk icon-Judy Collins. His music has won numerous awards by ASCAP (American Society of composers, authors and publishers) and the UCMVA (United Catholic Music awards) in 2003.

His recordings are currently distributed through Christian one-stop and Heartbeat Records to all major world outlets.

In addition to his work as a composer, recording artist and performer, Bob Rowe is also the founder of Renaissance Enterprises, which brings professional musicians and artists in to nursing homes and related care facilities throughout the country, with offices in Kalamazoo. Renaissance was founded by Bob in l988 and currently has a roster of more than 25 artists, artisans and performers who provide approximately 150 free programs in area care facilities. Their work has recently been featured in Time magazine, USA Today, cover, Mature Years, American Profile and Daily Word.
