COLOMA — The Brandywine football team got back on track Friday night with a 36-8 win over host Coloma in a Lakeland Conference clash.

The Bobcats, now 4-1 on the year and 1-1 in the league, got four touchdowns from quarterback Stone Hadley — two rushing and two passing.

Hadley scored on runs of 39 and 11 yards in the fourth quarter, including a fake punt, and he threw touchdown passes to Jacob Frazier for 15 yards and Aaron Marquardt for 21 yards.

If that wasn’t enough, he tossed a 2-point conversion to Frazier and kicked a 24-yard field goal.

“It was just a solid all-around game for Stone,” Brandywine coach Mike Nate said. “He was outstanding again. He just took over the game.”

Hadley finished the night with 10 rushes for 80 yards and was 6-of-12 for 75 yards through the air.

Dustin Sater led the ground attack with 158 yards on 22 carries, while Frazier finished with two catches for 40 yards and Marquardt two catches for 36 yards.

The Bobcats ran for 243 yards on the night, while holding the Comets to 127 yards rushing and 103 yards passing.

The Brandywine defense forced four fumbles.

Sater and Brendon Nichols both had 10 tackles for the Bobcats and Frazier recorded three tackles for loss.

“We dominated the time of possession because we were able to run the football,” Nate said. “Anytime you can do that, you are going to win some football games.”

The Bobcats return home after a month on the road to host Cassopolis in a key Lakeland contest on Friday night.

“Our white uniforms are pretty much worn out,” Nate said of being on the road. “It will be nice to play a home game.”
