Dowagiac City Council Monday night awarded low bidder Merrill Excavating contracts totaling $10,900 for the demolition of three city-owned sites – the former Candy Corner at 207 W. Division St., Dowagiac Glass at 103 Main St. and Dr. Charles Jones’s office at 105 Main St.

Demolition and site restoration of the parcels the city acquired for future development are expected to be complete during this construction season.
