Michigan falls to Metro 73-51

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – Former Dowagiac standouts Britnee Allerton and Torie Lowe combined for 23 of Michigan’s 51 points in a losing effort Tuesday night at Bethel College.

The Michigan All-Stars were defeated by Indiana Metro 73-51 in girls’ basketball at the Wiekam Center.

The game was over in the first 20 minutes.

Metro, led by South Bend Clay’s duo of Asia and Ariel Easton, roared out to a 33-15 halftime advantage.

The Eastons, who will play at Palm Beach State in Florida this coming year, scored a combined 39 points.

Ariel, who is Clay’s all-time leading scorer, led everyone with 21 points, while her sister Asia added 18.

Metro advances to the title game against either Indiana East or Indiana West on Thursday night.

Lowe, playing her final high school game, finished with 15 points to top the Michigan squad.

Allerton finished with eight points.

Brandywine’s Nicole Newman finished with five points, while Cassopolis’ Damonica Kelly and Buchanan’s Elizabeth Hein each had a pair of baskets.
