John Robert Crump, 84, of Niles passed away June 11, 2010. He was a three-time cancer survivor.

Born Nov. 22, 1925, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Rosa Mae Crump. On Aug. 7, 1948, John married Margene C. Shidler. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his nine siblings.

He is survived by son, John L. Crump, of Niles; daughter, Cathy J. Smith, of Niles; grandchildren, Chad Crofoot, of Cass and Jenny Kujawa, of Niles; step-grandchildren, Amanda Carr, of Washington and Dawn Cornell, of South Bend; great-grandchildren, Lane, Riley and Drew Crofoot and Kole Kujawa; and step-great-grandchildren, Emika Cornell and Cheyenne and Brett Carr.

Mr. Crump was a graduate of Culver High School. He was a 33 Honorary Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. He was also a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served our country during World War II.

No services are being held at this time. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Hospice at Home.
