DUHS netters wrap up conference play

COMSTOCK – The Dowagiac varsity tennis team wrapped up its Wolverine Conference season on Friday with a 6-1 win over host Comstock.
Dowagiac won three out of the four singles flights and swept the doubles flights to earn the victory.

Wolverine Conference
Tennis Tournament
PAW PAW – For the sixth straight year, Allegan captured the Wolverine Conference tennis championship.
The Tigers finished with 75 points on Saturday, while Gull Lake was second with 74 points.
Three Rivers was a distant third with 53 points and Paw Paw fourth with 48. Otsego rounded out the top five with 47 points.
Dowagiac placed seventh with 30 points. The Chieftains entered the tournament in eighth place.
Collins finished third at No. 3 singles to earn the top finish for Dowagiac on the day.
“All the girls played well and showed signs of improvement,” Dowagiac coach Curtis Partee said. “We are going to need this momentum going into the regional tournament this coming Friday.”
