Walter D. Stacks, 61, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010, at his home.

Walter’s life began on May 23, 1948, in McCory, Ark., the son of Horace Clay and Mary Lorine (Chapman) Stacks.

He worked at a truck stop for many years and loved hunting, fishing and gambling.

His loving family includes: his children, Kelly (Scott Strand) Sweet and Tim Stacks; grandchildren, TiffaniKay Stacks, Caleb Stacks and ChyAnn Sweet; great-grandchildren, Denton and Dalina; and his sisters, Ethel Root of Kalamazoo, Rodney (Ruth) Stacks of Benton Harbor.

Walter was preceded in death by: his parents, Horace and Mary Stacks; his sister, Virginia Stacks; and his brother, Horace “Larry” Stacks.

Family and friends will gather on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Yazel and Clark Chapel, where  funeral services will be at 5 p.m.
