Visiting South Haven scored seven runs in both ends of Friday night’s Wolverine Conference doubleheader to earn a sweep over the Dowagiac softball team.

The Rams remained undefeated on the season as they improved to 8-0 following wins of 7-3 and 7-0.

Hitting wasn’t a problem in the first game for either team, but despite nine hits against South Haven pitcher Sam Phillips, the Chieftains were only able to manage three seventh inning runs.

The Rams pounded out 10 hits and took advantage of four Dowagiac errors in handing Miranda East the loss.

Torie Lowe had a double, while Katie Lorenz finished with fourth hits and an RBI. Kiele Belew also had two hits.

In the nightcap, Dowagiac managed just four hits off of Alyssa Eastman.

South Haven finished with 12 hits off of Tara Sova.

Lowe had a double for the Chieftains, who drop to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in league action.
