Judith Speers, 55, formerly of Orchard Lane, Niles died at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at her home on Wood’s Edge Drive, Niles unexpectedly but of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 1, 1954 in Chicago to Joseph and Janice (Hendrickson) Grabowski. She graduated from Brandywine High School, Niles and lived here all her life.

She was employed at the former Pawating Hospital (now Lakeland-Niles) for 25 years. Judith enjoyed traveling to automobile races with her husband; vacationing in the Caribbean islands; and reading medical mystery fiction.

On Sept. 22, 1995 in Las Vegas she married Dr. David A. Speers, who preceded her in death Aug. 23, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Janice Grabowski, on Feb. 8, 2001, and a brother, Daniel J. Grabowski on Oct. 26, 1991.

Judy is survived by her father, Joseph Grabowski of Niles.

The family will gather privately for services.
