Wayne E. Nelson, 70, of Emerald Drive in Niles, died at 2:17 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend of natural causes.

Wayne was born Jan. 19, 1930 I Thorton, Ill. He married Dorothy A. (Ball) Nelson in Palos Park, Ill.

He was a retired machine shop owner and had lived in Niles since 1978.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Lillian (Lang) Nelson, and son, Thomas Wayne Nelson, who died on Feb. 28, 2005.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Niles; daughters, Terri Grimes, of Niles, and Tracy Daboust, of Durango, Colo.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home or Berrien County Cancer service.
