Pamida boosts schools, pantry
Stacey Petersen, a new shift leader at Pamida, presented more than $1,100 to Dowagiac Union Schools and to Helping Hands of Cass County in Cassopolis on Wednesday. Helping Hands, represented by Mary Tompi, received a box of food for its pantry along with its $611 check. Deputy Supt. Ed Yoder said the schools’ $542 share would be divided among the elementary buildings to address underprivileged students’ needs. The checks came from “round-ups” Pamida does by which customers contribute change from purchases.
