Christina M. “Tina” Kraus, 53, Cassopolis

CASSOPOLIS — Christina M. “Tina” Kraus of Cassopolis and formerly of Edwardsburg, passed away on Aug. 2, 2013 after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 17, 1959 in Erie, PA, the daughter of Edward G. Kraus and Doris Ann (Dahlkemper) Kraus. Tina was a loving mother, sister, and aunt. She was a CNA at Golden Living Retirement Home, where she enjoyed her time caring for the elderly patients. She was also a good seamstress and loved spending time making things in her craft room at her home. Tina was quite proud to earn her Physical Therapy Assistant Certification.

Tina is survived by her son Matthew Pratt of Cassopolis, four sisters; Marjorie (Thomas) Powell of Land of Lakes, Fla., Pamela (James) Brugh of Granger, Ind., Kathleen (Andy) Lauri of Niles and Pauline (Nick) Kraus of Brandon, Fla. There are four brothers; Edward G. (Teresa) Kraus, JR., of Elkhart, Ind., Christopher (Sandy) Kraus of Elkhart, Thaddeus (Connie) Kraus of Potterville, Mich. and Nicholas (Lisa) Kraus, of Cassopolis. There are also many nieces and nephews that survive.

Family and friends may gather Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church Social Hall, 24832 US-12 east. At 7 p.m. there will be a prayer service conducted by Father Joe McCormick. The Mass of Christian Burial will be, Wednesday at 11 a.m., where all may gather from 10 to 11 a.m., at the church. Officiating will be Father Joe McCormick, Pastor of the church. Burial will follow at Adamsville Cemetery, where Tina will be laid to rest next to her mother and father.

Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
