Barn Swallow work day Saturday

Barn Swallow Theatre is in the process of preparing its new theater home for the upcoming season by scheduling workdays in the coming weeks.
A work session is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Any and all help to prepare the theater for a showplace in the community will be welcome.
The newly acquired venue is located at 22334 U.S. 12 East, Edwardsburg. Much has already been accomplished by members and friends to change the building that previously housed a church, into a theater. The Edwardsburg Lions and Leos along with community friends and members have contributed many hours to rehab the building for presenting quality entertainment for our area.
It is hoped that the community will assist in finalizing the renovation process as it continues in this endeavor. Just an hour or two, or more will be appreciated and welcomed. The theater has created a “wish list” with some things that are needed besides man-hours. Contributions to purchase items on this list will be greatly appreciated. Needed are the following: flat black paint for the stage floor; curtains — plain white sheers; plywood and shingles for a prop shop; tools for building props — saws, hammers, drills, paint brushes, screw drivers, etc.; sound and light equipment; air conditioning units; lighting for outside the theatre; steel door for outside access to the stage; spray paint for spacing in the parking lot; piano tuning and repair; acoustical tile for basement floor; and wallpaper and paint for meeting rooms.
Monetary contributions for any of the above may be made at any time. Also, businesses or individuals may sponsor any of the performances, which include musical costs, scripts, licensing, prop materials, advertising, etc.
For information please contact Mike at 641-2797, Lois at 445-2142, Bev at 445-2068 or Carol at 445-2511.
