Todd Hesson named Coach of the Year

Buchanan’s Gage Hutchison heads the All-Southwest Michigan Wrestling Team, which was voted upon by the area coaches this week.

Hutchison is a two-time state champion, who finished with a career record of 218-8 with 168 pins. He was named Wrestler of the Year.

Niles’ Todd Hesson earned Coach of the Year honors after leading the Vikings to the Division 2 state semifinals.

Niles led the all-area wrestling team with 10 grapplers being named to the squad.

The Vikings had Nicholas Zimmerman (119), Casey Burandt (145), Fritzel Findeisen (152) and Ryan Casey (189) named to the first team.
