Jaylen Charles Weller, 22, of Dowagiac, along with the love of his life, Kylie P. Benkert, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

A celebration of life service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Jaylen was born June 12, 1994, in Niles, to Charles Weller and Virginia (Edge) Hughes. He graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 2013. Jaylen was a hard worker, often working seven days a week. He was a self-taught guitar player that would constantly find himself lost in music. Jaylen was a kind person who had a multitude of friends.

Jaylen is survived by his parents, Charles Weller of St. Joseph and Virginia (Guy) Hughes of Kalamazoo; siblings Adin, Damien and Cellie; grandparents Carol (Bruce) Collett of Dowagiac and Jessie (Brenda Moore) Edge of Covert; uncles Randy (Peggie) Smith, Sam Edge and Tommy Edge; aunt Jessica (Bobby) Linn; and numerous cousins.

Jaylen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Candy “Memaw” and Gilbert Weller.
