Elda Covolo Nelson nee Montresor, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday Dec. 5, in Muskegon, Michigan.

Elda was a longtime resident of Chicago’s Pullman neighborhood, Dowagiac, Michigan (Magician Lake) and most recently of Spring Lake, Michigan.

She was a Pullman Tech High School graduate.

Along with her late husband, Elda was the owner of Mario’s Foods, which operated in the Pullman Neighborhood and Calumet Park. She was the wife of the late Robert Nelson, CPD Retired, and Paul Mario Covolo; mother of Lawrence (Marge) Covolo, Annette (Raymond) Williams, Kenneth (Rosalie) Covolo and the late James Mario and Paul Vincent Covolo; mother-in-law of Brenda Braun nee Gilmore; grandmother of Lawrence Covolo Jr., Stepehen Covolo, Kory Lewis, James and Kenneth Covolo Jr. and Vince Braun; sister of Lorraine (Clifford) Geist. Beloved aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend of many.

She is buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Worth, Illinois.
