Daniel Jared Dunn, 77, of South Bend, Indiana died on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015, at the home of his daughter following an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 18, 1938, in South Bend, Indiana to Otto Ellis and Velma (Anderson) Dunn. He served his country in the United States Army. For 50 years, Daniel was a self-employed mechanic, specializing in Toyota brand vehicles. He had served as president of Region 1 of ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) of Indiana. He was also a member of Crumstown Conservation Club.

Daniel was first married to Ricki Howsam and together they had four children. On May 26, 1962, in South Bend, Indiana Daniel was married to the former Susan Lee Ramsbey, with whom he had one child. They celebrated 52 years of marriage prior to her death on July 9, 2014.

Surviving family includes his children, Gina Dunn of South Bend, Indiana, twins Danni Jo Dunn of Mishawaka, Indiana and Dino Dunn of South Bend, Kelley Dunn of Mishawaka, and Robin Hadrick of Niles; eleven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Dallas Dunn of South Bend.

The funeral service for Daniel Dunn will be at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with the Rev. Dr. Peter J. Wallace of Michiana Covenant Presbyterian Church in Granger, Indiana, officiating.
