Wayne O. Sanchez I, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015. He was born on June 8, 1955 to Arcadio and Lorna (Brishke) Sanchez in Chicago.

Wayne was a handyman and a dedicated worker. He loved fishing and camping. Wayne is survived by his parents; wife, Shirley Sanchez; children, Vonnie (Glenn) Cilley, Amy (Ron) Chester, Ernest (Debra) Nicholes, Christina (Josh) Nicholes, Wendy Sanchez, Wayne (Jessica) Sanchez; grandchildren, Micheal (Rachel), Courtney C. (Chris), Jesse, Amanda (Nick), Andrew (Alyssa), Cordell, Cassandra, Marc, Corey, Serenity, Sharlean, Courtney V., Brianna, Cody, Mason; brothers, Rueben Sanchez, Leon Sanchez; sister, Lucy Sanchez-Green-Heyn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his son, Wayne Sanchez II, brother-in-law, Delbert Green; parents-in-law, Richard and Lula Drake; many aunts and uncles; and his faithful companion, Cinnamon. A funeral service for Wayne will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 E. Apple Ave. (231-726-5210).

Visitation with the family will take place 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, and an hour prior to services. Burial will take place in Restlawn Cemetery.
