Michael Alan Haskins, a 54, of Niles, Michigan died on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 unexpectedly but of natural causes.

He was born on April 20, 1961 in Niles to Lloyd T. and Evelyn M. (McBain) Haskins, Sr. He was graduated from Brandywine High School, and has lived here most of his life. He had been employed over the years by several area firms.

Mike served in the United States Marine Corps during peacetime. He was very active in the Facebook community, but also enjoyed face-to-face friendships over lunch at the Salvation Army, and the solitude of Niles’ riverfront.

Surviving family includes his brothers and sister, Steve (& Patricia) Muff of Niles, Christine Muff of Louisiana, and Ted (& Myreta) Haskins, Jr. of Niles; several nieces and nephews; and an “adopted daughter” Amanda Textor of Plymouth, Indiana.

The memorial service for Mike Haskins will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Niles Riverfront Park Amphitheater with Major William Walters of the Salvation Army of Niles officiating, and will conclude with the Veteran’s Flag Presentation and Taps by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.

Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.
