Joan Cecil Price, 80, of Niles, Michigan died on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Lakeland Hospital in Niles. She was born Oct. 10, 1934 ,in Lawton, Michigan to Cecil and Blanch (Harroff) Rector.

Joan graduated from Niles High School in 1953 and was retired from Simplicity Pattern in Niles after many years of service. She was a natural caregiver, caring for her son and then husband all throughout her life. Joan loved spending time with her grandchildren and tending to her vegetable and herb gardens – keeping an eye on the visiting critters and birds. She would share a natural, home remedy for most any ailment and enjoyed watching NASCAR with her son, always rooting for the #88 car.

On July 21, 1956, in Niles, Joan married James Price, with whom she celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. He survives with children, Debra (Paul) Stueber of Niles, Diane Beaudoin of Cassopolis and Dennis (Lori) Price of Niles; four grandchildren, Timothy Steuber, Angela Stueber, Matthew Beaudoin and Sophia Price and 5 great-grandchildren, Faith, Tahlon, Tate, Quinn and Grace.

Joan was preceded in death by one son, David, and her three siblings.

The funeral service for Joan Cecil Price will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, at the mausoleum chapel at Mission Hills in Niles. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
