Paul “Mr. Fred” Hilligoss, 77, of Niles, passed away at The Timbers of Cass County on Thursday, April 30, 2015.

Fred was born on July 22, 1937 to the late Walter and Leitha (Lewke) Hilligoss in Niles. After graduating from Niles High School Fred wed the love of his life, Donna Jean Godman, on June 6, 1964 in Niles. Together the two had four children. Fred retired from the Niles school system in the early 1990s.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, Walter Hilligoss; mother, Leitha Flick; and siblings, Pauline Worvey, Bob Hilligoss, Nadine DeForest, Juanita Johnson and Teresa Millin.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Hilligoss of Niles; sons, Donald (Kim) Hilligoss of Elkhart, Indiana, Daniel (Shelley) Hilligoss of Niles and Rodney (Casey) Hilligoss of Niles; daughter, Diane (Joshua Jay) Piraccini of South Bend; grandchildren, Zac, Cody, Drew, Miranda, Madison, Brandon, Nathan, Dominic and Dylan; brothers, Bill Hilligoss of Niles and Leroy (Judy) Hilligoss of Niles and sister, Mary Shearer of Niles.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, at Brown Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, May, 8, 2015 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Niles at 11 a.m.
