Bond will save taxpayers money in the long run

On May 5, 2015, voters in the Niles Community School District will face an important bond decision that will greatly impact Niles Community Schools. As a lifelong Niles resident and parent of two children currently attending Niles schools, I am urging my friends, neighbors and area residents to please support both Proposal 1 and Proposal 2 of the 2015 Bond.

The bond proposals are greatly needed to give our children technology upgrades that neighboring school districts have already made for their children. We all want our students to succeed and have opportunities after graduation. Technology improvements will ensure that they stay competitive with the surrounding district’s students and will let the job creators in our area know that the Niles community strongly stands behind their students and their schools and will invest in them!

The bond will actually save taxpayers money over a short period of time by making much needed energy-efficient upgrades so we can stop putting excessive money into heating buildings that are not energy-efficient. We can immediately direct those dollars saved into our classrooms!

High-quality education is the bedrock of strong communities. This bond is an opportunity for Niles residents to say, “Yes! We will invest in our schools because it will lead to greater opportunities for our children and for our community.” If we want to build a stronger Niles Community, we have the opportunity to start on Tuesday, May 5, 2015.

Our schools truly need this bond and our students deserve it. Please join with me and give our children the best chance at life-long success.

You can make a real difference! Vote “yes, yes” to Proposal 1 and Proposal 2 for the 2015 bond on May 5, 2015.
