Michael Cain

Michael Cain

Michael was born Aug. 22, 1950, in Lewis, Deleware, to father Alva H. Cain Sr. and mother Mary A. Cain, who both preceded him in death. He grew up in a large, loving family with four sisters and two brothers.

He attended Eau Claire High School before joining the US Army at age 17 and serving in Vietnam and Germany.

Michael was a proud member of the VFW Post 6248 out of Decatur, Michigan. He completed his education at Southwestern Michigan College and Ferris State University, while working as a mechanic and carpenter. He was also an avid volunteer at the Niles Haunted House for 15 years.

But his proudest accomplishment was being a father. He was blessed with three amazing sons that he lovingly referred to as “My Three Sons” or “My Boyz” every chance he got. They were his priority and he made it his personal goal to attend every sporting event or school function possible. He was their biggest fan.

Michael is survived by his three sons Travis, Austin and Christian Cain of Niles, Michigan; sisters, Mary (Mike Van Goey) Dutoi of Osceola, Indiana, Janice (Ron) Lovel of Ishpeming, MI, Vickey (Bill McAbee) McCrory of Niles, MI; brothers, Bert (Brooke) Cain of Ft. Wayne, IN and Bob (Sherri) Cain of Orlando, Florida; step-siblings, Randy (Joanne) Butz, Roberta (Brian) Forray, Steven (Angela) Butz, Jon (Deborah) Butz, and Jacqueline (Dwight) Finn; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Michael was proceeded in death by his Parents, step-mother, Joan Cain; sister, Carol Burger; and brothers-in-law, Ronald Burger and Donald Dutoi.

A celebration of Michael’s life is planned for Aug. 22, 2015, at the American Legion in Three Oaks Michigan. Times will be announced at a later date. The family suggests instead of flowers that Memorial contributions be made to Michael’s Celebration of Life for his boys at http://www.gofundme.com/mkjghw.

Also please consider signing up as an Organ Donor. They are desperately needed.
