Connie Kay Yeager, 73, of Dowagiac, passed away at her home on Monday, March 9, 2015 while surrounded by her loving family.

Connie was born on Dec. 28, 1941, to the late Orville and Ollie (Smith) Pickens in Rochester, Indiana.

On Nov. 17, 1956, Connie wed the love of her life, Carl Yeager at a ceremony in Cassopolis, Michigan. Together they two had four wonderful children. One of Connie’s greatest enjoyments was traveling with her husband Carl, especially her trip to the Bahamas. Connie loved crocheting and ceramics. She had thousands of molds and would make and paint them to give as gifts to her friends and family. Connie loved Boston Terriers, she was an avid collector of Boston Terrier memorabilia, she bred them, and had several as pets, Gus being her favorite. Most of all, though, Connie enjoyed being a grandma and mother; her children and grandchildren brought her great joy and pride.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law Bruce Turnbow. She is survived by her husband, Carl Yeager; sons William Yeager, Craig (Tammy) Yeager and Kevin (Cathy) Yeager, all of Dowagiac and daughter Lori Turnbow of Cassopolis; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; siblings Kenneth Pickens of Niles and Isabel Dooley of Elkhart.

Services to honor Connie’s life will be on Thursday, March 12, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a time of visitation two hours prior.
