Frances “Pete” Luthjohan, 84, of Dowagiac, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015, at Clark Chapel and Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, with Pastor Lonnie T. Carpenter of First Baptist Church of Lawton officiating.  Friends may visit from 1 p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cass County Humane Society. Frances “Pete” was born Feb. 1, 1931, in Eau Claire, Michigan to Homer and Stella (Worth) Brant.  She married Carl Henry Luthjohan on Jan. 11, 1952, in Dowagiac.  “Pete” was employed at James Heddon’s Sons and retired from Thermocast International, Inc. in 1993.  She enjoyed playing games, especially Scrabble. “Pete” enjoyed reading and crocheting and made quilts for all of her friends and family.

“Pete” will be dearly missed by her children, Linda Bohner of Goshen, Indiana, Carla (Mark) Colley, Mike (Jeanne) Luthjohan, Diana (Scott) Jurgenson  and Carl (Tracy) Luthjohan, all of Dowagiac; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sister, Elma (Arnold) Doberstein of Dowagiac and brother, Frank (Jenny) Brant of Grand Fork, North Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968; her parents; brothers, Henry, Kenneth, Charles, David, and Elmer; sisters, Martha Edith Street and Hatie Keller.
