Sally A. Hempstead, 75, of Elkhart, died Monday, January 26 at Elkhart General Hospital.
Sally was born on August 16, 1939 in Dowagiac, MI to Joseph and Allyne (Place) Hempstead.
She is survived by a sister, Mary A. Hempstead, Elkhart; brother, Joseph Hempstead, Indianapolis; step-sister, Caroline Mitchell (Don), Edwardsburg; Niece, Kimberly Hempstead (Don Hassler); Nephew, Gregory A. Hempstead (Sarah); Great-nieces, Norah, Caitlyn, and numerous cousins.
Sally was a dishwasher at Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac. She was a member of 1st Christian Church, Dowagiac, prior to transferring to Central Christian Church, Elkhart.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., Thursday, January 29, at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home 403 W. Franklin Street, Elkhart, Indiana. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, January 30, at Central Christian Church, 418 W. Franklin Street, Elkhart, Indiana, with Reverend Jim Lindskoog officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac.
