Barbara Alexander, 71, of Niles, Michigan died on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at her home following an extended illness. She was born Nov. 14, 1943, in Trumann, Arkansas to Silas “Teen” and Inis (Green) Archer. Barbara had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed playing BINGO and visiting casinos.

In December of 1959, Barbara married Tommie Alexander, who survives with children Tommie Alexander and Steven Alexander of Niles, Tresa Elder of Syracuse, Indiana and Kimberly (Bradley) Comer of Niles, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by her siblings.

Reflecting Barbara’s modest lifestyle, the family will remember her in their own personal ways. Donations in memory of Barbara may be made to the American Cancer Society.
