Mary ‘Eloise’ Davis, of Niles

Mary Eloise Davis, 94, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital in Niles on Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 with her family by her side.

Eloise was born on October 24, 1920 to the late George and Edith (Bailey) Parker in Dowagiac, Michigan and on May 5, 1941 Eloise wed the love of her life, LaMarr “Bud” Davis, at the Pokagon United Methodist Church in Dowagiac. The two loved spending their free time golfing together; Eloise even scored a hole-in-one. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and especially loved her time spent with her family.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents; husband, LaMarr “Bud” Davis; son, Steve Davis; granddaughter Stephanie Davis; brother, James Parker and sister, Fern Schram.

She is survived by her children, Toy (Bob) Young of Niles, Terry (Glenn) Krueger of Cassopolis and John (Darleen) Davis of Granger, Indiana; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and sisters Fran True of Niles and Nina True of Niles.

A short committal service will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in the mausoleum chapel on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, beginning at 11 a.m.

Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Eloise’s name may do so to the Old Rugged Cross Foundation or the Pokagon United Methodist Church.
