Charlotte Faye Ramer, 85, of Niles, passed away at Silverbrook Manor in Niles on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015.

Charlotte was born on Aug. 5, 1929, to the late Emery and Eula (Smith) Johnson in Niles. After graduating from high school Charlotte wed the love of her life, Donald Ramer, at a ceremony in Buchanan, Michigan on Sept. 5, 1949. Charlotte was a secretary for many years at First Church of Christ on Yankee Street, she enjoyed her time there, especially working on the monthly bulletin. Charlotte and Don also had a passion of traveling and did so all over the country in their motor home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Emery Johnson; mother, Eula (Sam) Gilbert; and granddaughter Shelley Mathis.

Charlotte is survived by her husband of 65 years, Don Ramer; daughters Dale Mathis of Coloma and Ruth Ann (Mike) Helbig of Niles; son, John (Chris) Ramer of Benton Harbor; grandchildren, Andrea Mathis, Jason (Jenny) Mathis, Casey (Rodney) Hilligoss and Chris (Shaya) Helbig; three great grandchildren and a sister Jo Ann of Texas.

Funeral services to honor Charlotte will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel beginning at 2 p.m. with a time of visitation two hours prior.
