Durell “Junior” Young, 75

Durell “Junior” Young, Jr., 75, of Three Rivers, formerly of Cassopolis, died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 in the presence of his family, in Riverview Manor in Three Rivers.

Junior was born June 30, 1939 to Durell and Ethel (Kiner) Young, Sr. His parents preceded him in death. He married Mary Jane Huffman Oct. 13, 1962 in Cassopolis. She survives.

Junior’s passion was working, his hobby was old cars, but his main interest was his family, and he adored his wife.

Junior will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of over fifty two years, Mary Jane (Huffman) Young of Three Rivers; one daughter, Linda (Gary Bradford) Young-Bradford of Three Rivers; one granddaughter, Amy Johnson of Three Rivers; one grandson, Ryan Ismay of Three Rivers; one great-granddaughter, Emily Ismay; two great-grandsons, Jaden Watson and Jordan Watson; two sisters, Lois Gwilt of Ocala, Florida, Margie (Arthur) Horner of Niles, two brothers, Mike Young and John (Marjorie) Young; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015 from 2 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis, with the Rev. Larry Settle officiating.

Junior will be accorded full military honors provided by active members of the U.S. Air Force assisted by the honor guard of American Legion Edwardsburg Post 365, of which he was a member. He will be laid to rest in Reames and Norton Cemetery in Cassopolis.

The family prefers contributions be made in Junior’s name to either American Legion Edwardsburg Post 365, Post Office Box 47, Edwardsburg, MI 49112, or, Alzheimer’s Association, Southwest Regional Office, 350 E. Michigan Ave., Suite 20, Kalamazoo, MI 49007.
