Robert L. Perkins, 74, of Niles, passed away at Lakeland Hospital on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014.

Robert was born on May 4, 1940, to the late Charles and Bessie Perkins in Dowagiac, Michigan. He was one of 10 children in the Perkins household.

On Feb. 1, 1960, Robert wed the love of his life, Nancy Gant, at a ceremony in Cassopolis, Michigan. In July of 2002, Robert retired from Michiana Box & Crate.

Robert’s family will be hosting a memorial service on Friday, Dec. 26, 2014, at 1 p.m. at Victory Tabernacle Church located at 33440 Middle Crossing Road
in Dowagiac.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents Charles Perkins and Bessie Kennedy and son Robert Leroy Perkins.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Perkins; children, Patricia Boelcke of South Bend, Indiana, Patricia Smith of South Bend, and Robert Perkins of Niles; grandchildren, Joseph Boelcke and Allison Smith; and five great grandchildren.
