Gladys Marie Rienks, 86, of Edwardsburg, died peacefully Monday evening, Dec. 1, 2014, in her residence in the presence of those whom she loved and who loved her.

Gladys was born on April 30, 1928, in Eastman, Wisconsin, to August and Anna (Zlabek) Moeller. She married Alexander Anthony Rienks on April 24, 1948, in Eastman, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters, Marie Hill, Helen Foley, Betty Ann Moeller; three brothers, Harry Moeller, Willard Moeller and Raymond Moeller.

Gladys will be remembered as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She liked watching the birds in her backyard.

Gladys will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Steve (Lydia) Rienks of Hinsdale, Illinois, Bruce (Mary) Rienks of Edwardsburg; three daughters, Christine Bender of South Bend, Sue (Bill) Stevens of Elkhart, Jean (Jim) Morrison of Mishawaka; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family and friends will gather Friday, Dec. 5, 2014, from noon until time of service at 2 p.m. in Community Baptist Church, 28647 US-12, Edwardsburg, with the Pastor Dan Thomas officiating. Gladys will be laid to rest beside her late husband in Adamsville Cemetery in Edwardsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in Gladys’ memory to the charity of your choice.
