Nancy Ruth Leinonen, of Niles, passed away at her home on Nov. 10, 2014 with her family at her side after a short battle with cancer.

Nancy was born in Niles, Michigan to Roy M. and Leona Weist (Cody), who preceded her in death along with her brother, Roy E Weist.

On Oct. 24, 2009, she married Donald Leinonen, who survives.

As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she loved studying the Bible and spending time in the ministry, especially the many years she spent in the full-time ministry, more recently doing so with her husband, Don.

Though having various jobs throughout her lifetime, her priority was her chiIdren and grandchildren.

She loved her music and Sudoku puzzles and enjoyed dancing, traveling and spending time with friends and family. She had an easy smile and a kind word for everyone. Through good times and bad, she came out on top with her sense of humor, spunkiness and kindness.

Along with her husband, Don, Nancy is survived by her children, Rebecca (Jim) Browder of LaPorte, Lori (Rickey) Lang of Niles, Debora (Bill) Lietzan of Henderson, CO, John Nicholas of Niles and Kathleen (Randy) Walls of LaPorte; and grandchildren, Nicholas, Kaley, Savannah, lenelle, Austen, Trent and Kayla.

She is also survived by four stepchildren and six step-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held for Nancy at the Niles Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 603 N 17th Street, Niles, MI on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m.
