Brian Lee Robinson, 60, of Niles, Michigan died on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 10, 1953, in Paw Paw, Michigan to Raymond O. and June E. (Wilson) Robinson.

Brian was a 1973 graduate of Dowagiac High School, he attended Lake Michigan College. He was a Vietnam Wartime veteran of the United States Army, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. Brian had worked part-time with the police departments of Howard and Wayne Townships and as a reserve officer for the Niles Police Department. He is a 25-year veteran of the Ontwa Township Edwardsburg Police Department. He also worked part time with Buchanan Police Department.

Brian loved his grandchildren, enjoyed bowling, skydiving, painting and drawing.

On Sept. 10, 1983, in Niles, Brian married the former Karen Cribbs, who survives with their daughters, Kristin (John) Furner of Escanaba, Michigan and Danielle (Joshua) Schlutt of South Bend; and grandchildren, Ryan, Paige, and Noah. Brian is also survived by his mother, June E. Robinson and siblings, Sharon (Robin) Chaney and Donna Bender of Michigan; and brothers, Mike Robinson of Michigan and David Robinson of Canada.

The Episcopal Burial Rite for Brian Robinson will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at Trinity Episcopal Church by The Reverend Pamela V. Sten of the congregation assisted by the Rev. James Slack. Interment will follow at Mission Hills, Niles, with military honors.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles.

Donations in memory of Brian Lee Robinson may be made to Cass County Cancer Service in Edwardsburg.
