Emeret L. Behrens, 94, of Niles, Michigan died on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014, at Silverbrook Manor, Niles. She was born Feb. 14, 1920, in Niles to Henry R. and Ada G. (Grice) Smith.

Emeret worked for the Garner Drug store, then for Dick Camp’s Drug Store and also for Simplicity Pattern Company in Niles.

On June 1, 1957, in Niles, Emeret married Charles W. Behrens, he preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, George Smith, Charles Smith and Claude Smith.

Surviving family includes a great-niece, Karen Houck of Niles and a great-nephew, Tim Simpson of South Bend.

Graveside services for Emeret L. Behrens will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31 at Silverbrook Cemetery in Niles with Rev. Randy Pearman of Bethel Baptist Church, Niles, officiating.

Donations in memory of Emeret may be made to the local humane society of choice.

Arrangements were made at the Halbritter Funeral Home, Niles, Michigan.
