Elizabeth “Betty” Tokarchick, 90, of Niles, Michigan died on Monday, Oct. 20, 2014, following an extended illness. She was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Simpson, Pennsylvania to John and Anna (Gettsy) Klimkowski.

Betty was a member of Saint Nectarios Orthodox Church in South Bend. She taught sewing lessons and was an excellent seamstress.

On April 29, 1944, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Betty married Andrew Tokarchick, he preceded her in death on July 8, 2003.

Betty is survived by her children, Karen E. (Marc Cozzi) Brewster of Niles and Andrew R. “Rick” (Susan) Tokarchick of Wayland, Michigan; four grandchildren, Kelly Rickards, Erin Paul) Abueva, Michael Tokarchick and Jason Tokarchick and two great-grandchildren Joshua Rickards and Tristan Berry.

Betty was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betty” Tokarchick will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles with The Reverend Father Robert Bower of Saint Nectarios Orthodox Church of South Bend. Interment will follow at Mission Hills, Niles.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at the funeral home with the Panachyda Service beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Donations in memory of Betty may be made to Saint Nectarios Orthodox Church in South Bend or to Hospice at Home.
