William “Bill” F. Pullum, 86, of Edwardsburg, received his eternal reward on Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 when he passed from this life with his family at his side.

Bill was born on Jan. 4, 1928 to the late Willie and Erma (Pruitt) Pullum in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

After graduation, Bill served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was smitten with Eva Ellcey the first time he laid his eyes on her; on Nov. 15, 1948 he married the woman who stole his heart at a ceremony in Paw Paw, Michigan. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage, including his constant teasing of her, until her passing in 2008.

Bill was a man whom enjoyed the very simple things in life.

He enjoyed sitting out on the front porch during the summer time and anxiously awaited the arrival of the hummingbirds to his feeder. He and Eva also loved camping and looked forward to the campouts they shared with their family and friends, sitting around the campfire telling stories. Bill also enjoyed time spent hunting and fishing. He was very gifted at playing the guitar and traveled and sang for over 50 years with the Hymn Time Singers.

He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to garage sales, reconditioning cars and mostly time spent with his grandchildren. He was also a faithful member of the Bethel Assembly in Elkhart, Indiana.

Preceding Bill are his parents, his wife, a brother, Kenneth Pullum, and three sisters; Beatrice Lewis, Floremma Cravins, and Reba Wilson.

He is survived by his three daughters; Carol Ann Ferguson of Lafayette, Indiana, Vickie Bennett of Buchanan, Michigan, and Sheila Pullum-Wilson of Niles, two sons Daniel (Patricia) Pullum of Cassopolis and Michael (Julie) Pullum of Granger, Indiana.

Bill will also be missed by his sister Elizabeth Stoneburner of Humbolt, Tennessee, his eight grandchildren, and his fifteen great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services for Bill will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel with his daughter Pastor Carol Ann Ferguson, officiating. Bill will be laid to rest next to his wife, Eva at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
