Timothy Douglas Gard, 44, formerly of Dowagiac, passed away in Portland, Oregon on Aug. 25.

He was very gifted and talented. His friends called him a musical savant. He entertained his friends with wisdom, wit and his musical talents. He graduated from Dowagiac Union High School in 1987, graduated from Michigan Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering cum laude, and a degree from Mt. Hood Community College in music.

Timothy was born Nov. 21, 1969 to his parents Donald and Carol Gard of Dowagiac. He is survived by a brother, Daniel (Jill) of Grand Ledge, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Barbara Gard, and maternal grandparents, Harold and Edna Shaw.
