Harry Edward Kujawa, 88, of Niles, passed away suddenly, of natural causes, on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014.

He was born on May 12, 1926, to the late Walter and Helen (Clemshack) Kujawa in South Bend, Indiana. After school Harry Joined the United States Army and on July 18, 1953, Harry wed the love of his life, Dolores Mae Unger at St. Mary Catholic Church in Niles.

Harry was a machinist for many years, retiring from Niles Precision. He was a founding member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Those who knew him best would simply say he was a “good man.” He was a faithful provider for his wife and children. He was passionate about farming, fishing and landscaping his son’s yard.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Rick E. Kujawa and siblings Virginia Wolf, Connie Kujawa, Sarah Schilling, Edwina Egmer, Helen Hess, Mary Wachoviak, Walter Kujawa Jr., Zymonth Kujawa, Joseph Kujawa and Felix Kujawa.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dolores; son, Allen (Cathy) Kujawa of Niles; four grandchildren, Trisha (David) Tarter of Alabama, Ricky Kujawa of Georgia, Lyndsey Kujawa of Virginia and Dillon Kujawa of Niles; two great-grandchildren, Layla and Kathryn; brother Henry “Hank” (Shirley) Kujawa of Niles and daughter-in-law Jo Ann Kujawa of Alabama.

Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation at Brown Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Niles beginning at 11 a.m. A private interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
