Vincent Allen Van Tuyle, 2, of Niles passed to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Bronson Children’s Hospital in Kalamazoo after a two-month struggle with cancer.

He was born Dec. 15, 2011, in Niles, to Kim Van Tuyle and Kandra Westgate. Surviving to cherish his memories are his mother and father, grandparents Kathy Westgate of Cassopolis, and John Westgate of Niles and great-grandparents Neil and Pat Klockow of Elkhart, Indiana.

Vincent blessed his family with his boyish charm and strong will. He had a wonderful disposition and captured the hearts of everyone around him. He loved trucks, earth moving equipment and his Thomas the Train characters. His favorite videos were of Caillou. He was a very happy little boy and loved being outside, going on walks, especially riding in his wagon.

A celebration of Vincent’s life and memories will be held at Niles Township Community Park on Bond Street, south of the US-12 bypass.

Friends and family can come and go any time between 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014. A rain date has been scheduled for 2 to 6 p.m. July 20, 2014.
