Douglas Kane “Big D” Morse, 58, of Niles, died peacefully Sunday morning, June 15, 2014, surrounded by his family in Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Michigan.

He was born Aug. 22, 1955, in Niles, to Franklin and Evelyn (Dollanger) Morse. He married Christina Marie Stuglik Dec. 5, 1987, in Niles. She survives. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and father-in-law, Joseph Stuglik.

Doug was passionate about his family and friends and fishing.

Doug will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Christina “Tina” (Stuglik) Morse of Niles; one daughter, Rebekah Morse of Niles; two sons, Jeromie Morse and Michael Morse, both of Niles; one brother, Frank (Kathy) Morse, Jr., of Three Rivers; and his mother-in-law, Betty Stuglik of Niles.

Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 North Broadway Street, Cassopolis. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, in the funeral home. Mr. Morse will be laid to rest in Adamsville Cemetery, Edwardsburg.

The family prefers contributions in Doug’s memory be made to the funeral home to help with final expenses.
